⚽ First game of the season and our first 3 points on the board! A very close and entertaining game, with plenty of grit and determination shown by both sides. Wollaston came out on top thanks to an own goal, forced by a brilliant cross and some excellent pressure from Harry. Nobody could deny it was a hard-fought victory - we battled throughout and came out on top in the majority of the individual battles across the pitch. We also played some excellent football. The team got the ball down, put together some brilliant passing sequences and, even when under heavy pressure, weren't afraid to keep possession, start again from the back and play our way forward. Every player on the pitch deserves huge praise, but there were a few standout performances... 🏆 Referee's Player of the Match - Remmy Remmy gave absolutely everything throughout the game. He won the ball countless times, created chances and never stopped working for the team. Well done, Rem! 👏 🏆 Parents' Players of the Match - Frankie & Elliot This one was simply too close to call, with the parents split between two fantastic performances! Elliot defended brilliantly, got up and down the pitch with lightning pace and constantly supported the attack. As captain, he also did a fantastic job organising the team and relaying instructions to the rest of the players. Frankie produced an outstanding performance at centre-back, showing everyone on the pitch how to defend with style, grit and class. Well done, Elliot and Frankie! 👏 🏆 Coaches' Player of the Match - Logan Logan was an easy choice for us. We don't think we've seen a player show more determination and bravery. He completely owned his midfield role, threw himself into every challenge and showed everyone exactly what it means to leave everything out on the pitch. Well done, Logan! 👏 Overall, we couldn't have hoped for a better start to the season against a strong Trysull side.
